Fabric is finally here!

its finally here all the way from the USA! my enthusiasm however is somewhat deflated as I was hoping to have a larger pattern. I know this is to do with image/pixel size though am not sure how to over come this problem.

Digital prints- exploring dream scape and spirituality

I thought I would look at using digital prints and am hoping that this ma be a good income provider.  This comes from a dream scape of mine and feel this is something I want to explore more of.  I say dream scape but these images and words that come to me is never really when I am asleep though not fully awake either.  Even the words the edge of sanity reeks of liberty came to me in the journey between awake and asleep.  I have researched these words and the edge of sanity comes from Shakespeare's Hamlet though there is no reference to reeks of liberty that I can find.

I spoke to my mother who is more knowledgeable  in these things than I says that the way I describe it is almost like an outer body experience.  

Interior ideas

some ideas I have for interiors. thought not looking at wall paper these examples give me an idea as to how the pattering work within an internal space. 

fabric

sticking to the red and grey I decided to create a pattern for fabric. The chequered/tartan look was tied in to my scottish heritage though feel it may perhaps be too busy.  I feel far more positive about the grey as it is simplistic, however it will need to weight until samples are sent across from america before I decide anything.  If nice enough I may look to creating interiors from them. 

Battle of Faith

I chose to create a silkscreen background of grey and red as not every thing in War is black and white though red is ever present. I wanted to leave a gap for the white paper to shine through as a bright band of hope and faith. this also added a leval of depth to the print that was unexpected plus.

Print studio

In the print studio at forthvalley college.  Getting a screen developed and have an hour to kill. Need to bring more stuff with me next time to make the most of this time. Perhaps some drypoint.
