Hand
stitching seems to be more important than machine sewing. Makes it just as
personal as the subject. Hand sewing and quilt making is also a traditional
craft used by women. She turns this tradition into something new.

Fine art
Chiharu Shiota
Japanese

Installation
artist who focuses on dreams, memories, life and death. Her work very often
engulfs the place in which it is set, creating an entirely new environment.
Monika Grzymala
Polish

Works in
very linier forms to create a sense of flow and direction within an interior
environment. Works mostly with tape and
paper.
David Nash
English
working in wales
Environmental
artist working wood, trees and nature. The trees he works with often split bend
and crack once taken out of there environment and he works with this to shape
the end result of his work. Nash often
places these trees back in the outdoors in their own environment. This is significant because he is working
with nature and is environmentally aware of the source of his work.

‘EDDIE’
Originally
designed by Derek Riggs for ‘iron maiden’ the brand of Eddie has been worked on
by many other artists such as Melvyn Grant Ed Hunter and many others. Not only dose Eddie appear on album covers
but on stage design, merchandise, plains and video games the story of Eddie has
kept fan enthralled as to what happens next. Eddie is to iron maiden as the big
red T is to Tennents lager. The reason I find Eddie interesting is that even
though Derek Riggs is no longer working with the band they still own Eddie. And
I believe that after the band is gone Eddie will live on. Who knows maybe Disney will buy him.
